Bredesen Park got it’s name from its original landowner, Oscar Bredesen, who owned the property from 1916 to 1966. Bredesen was a prominent businessman and civic leader in Edina, and he played an important role in the development of the community during the early part of the 20th century.


Bredesen purchased the property that would become the park in the early 1900s, and he developed it into a thriving farm that included fields, orchards, and a large vegetable garden.
